Simple as 5-4-3-2-1! Dublin player claims €125,000 Lotto prize

A player from Dublin left the National Lottery’s winners' room €125,000 richer this afternoon (Tuesday) after winning the top prize in the 6 number game of Lotto 5-4-3-2-1.

The Dublin winner purchased the winning ticket online after scooping the top prize on Wednesday 28th of June. The player correctly matched five of the six winning numbers in the main Lotto draw that evening to scoop the €125,000 prize on a €1 ticket.

Lotto 5-4-3-2-1 is a game based upon the results of Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 draws. In this game players decide how many numbers they play, predicting between one and five of the numbers drawn in Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 or Lotto Plus 2. The top prize in the 6 Number game is a guaranteed €125,000 while the 7 Number game is guaranteed to be €40,000.

The winner who was a woman from Dublin, claimed she only recently starting playing the 5-4-3-2-1 game couldn’t believe her eyes when she opened an email from the National Lottery stating she’d won big: “I assumed that there must have been a massive mistake. It’s just incredible to think I’ve won €125,000 after spending just €1. I’m still in complete shock to be honest and will probably need some time to make a plan for the money and wrap my head around the win”, she said.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 35 years ago. In 2021 alone, €304 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
