A National Lottery player from Dublin is still in complete shock after claiming their EuroMillions plus top prize ticket worth a whopping €500,000 in Lottery HQ this afternoon.
The player, who wishes to remain private, spoke of how they felt when they found out they’d won the incredible prize: “I’m just in complete shock! It still hasn’t really sunk in yet. I’ve no big plans made for the money yet, but clearing off the mortgage will be top of the list. It’s a nice amount of money – not completely life changing but will make our lives a little easier and take some pressure off”, they said.
The Dublin player purchased their EuroMillions Plus quick pick ticket worth €500,000 at the Student Union shop located on the Trinity College Campus in Dublin city centre.
Meanwhile tonight’s Lotto Jackpot rolls to an estimated €6.5million. Players hoping to be in with a chance of becoming Ireland’s next Lotto jackpot winner are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at http://www.lottery.ie/ ahead of the cut-off time for ticket sales at 7.45pm this evening.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 34 years ago. In 2021 alone, €304 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
