Lotto player in Dublin wins €781,265 in Wednesday night draw

181 Lotto players all over Ireland have benefited to the tune of €14.28 million in additional prizes from capped jackpot across 16 draws

Last night’s Lotto draw marked the sixteenth draw at which players had the chance to benefit from additional prize funds rolling down to the next highest tier with a winner from the capped €19.06 million jackpot. Over 141,000 players across Ireland won prizes in Wednesday night’s Lotto and Lotto Plus games including a Dublin player who became the biggest winner of the night.

As no additional funds were added to the jackpot as it remains capped, the funds that would usually go to the jackpot were instead distributed to the next prize tier at which there was a winner and in last night’s draw, this was the Match 5+Bonus category. The National Lottery are encouraging players in South County Dublin to check their tickets carefully after a Dalkey player matched five numbers and the bonus to win €781,265.

The Dalkey winner purchased their winning Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw at Barnhill Stores on the Barnhill Road in Dalkey, Co. Dublin.

Dave Whelan, owner of Barnhill Stores, was delighted to hear the good news from Wednesday night’s draw: “It will certainly be a day of celebration and excitement in the store today. We have a team of 60 working here and as soon as word gets around amongst staff, I know they will all be delighted to hear that we sold a winning ticket worth over €700,000. As we enter into the festive season, I’m sure the win has come at the perfect time for the lucky winner too!”

John Hoade, Andrea Carydias, Ruth Bowers and Mikey O’Brien were pictured celebrating at Barnhill Stores on the Barnhill Road in Dalkey, Co. Dublin after it was announced that their store sold the winning Match 5+Bonus ticket in Wednesday night’s draw (24th November) worth €781,265.

The winning numbers in last night’s (Wednesday 24th November) draw were: 08, 10, 19, 31, 41, 43 and the bonus was 29.

The South County Dublin winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe. They should make contact with the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize of €781,265.

Since Saturday 2nd October, no additional funds have been added to the jackpot which has resulted in players at the Match 5+Bonus and Match 5 categories receiving larger prizes than usual. Across the past 16 Lotto draws, 181 players across the country who won the Match 5+Bonus or Match 5 prizes have shared €14.28 million in additional prize money due to the jackpot prize roll down.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 34 years ago. In 2020 alone, €254 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
