National Lottery urges Galway players to check tickets as second Daily Million Plus prize won in

A lucky Galwegian is €500,000 richer this afternoon after the National Lottery revealed that it’s Daily Million Plus top prize was won by a player in the town of Athenry today.

The National Lottery is now asking its Daily Million players in Athenry and its surrounding Galway areas to check their tickets. The winning ticket was bought earlier today at Joyce’s Service Station, The Arch on the Caheroyn Road, Athenry, Co. Galway.

A delighted Pat Joyce, owner of Joyce’s Service Station said: “It’s a lovely bit of news to get and some great news for the town so to have sold this winning ticket is very exciting. Our customers in the service station tend to be regulars from the local town so hopefully one of them is finding out that they are half a million better off today. Congratulations to the winner and I wish them the very best for the future!”

This is the second major National Lottery win at one of Pat’s stores in less than a year as last June a winning Lotto ticket worth €4,051,610 was sold at Joyce’s Supermarket in Doughiska, Co. Galway.

This is the second time in a week that the Daily Million Plus top prize has been won, where the ticket was sold at a service station. The same prize was won last Thursday 23rd April, with the ticket being bought at the Circle K Service Station in Ashbourne, Co Meath. The winner of this prize made contact with the National Lottery earlier this week.
