Winning streak continues in Cork as two separate online players win €10,000 on digital All Cash Tripler game

Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot rolls towards €100 million (estimated)

National Lottery players in Co. Cork are enjoying a run of luck this week as two online players both claimed €10,000 on the Digital All Cash Tripler game.

The first winner was in total shock when she realised exactly how much she had won. “I couldn’t believe it. I was double checking and triple checking. I originally thought I had won €1,000, which I was delighted with, but then I noticed the extra zero and realized that I had won ten times that amount. I still can’t believe that I actually won €10,000,” she said.

The Cork woman has a few ideas of how to put her windfall to good use: “There’s a few things around the house that I would love to change so the win has come at a good time. Now that I have my cheque, I am really going to think about my renovation plans now.”

The second Cork woman was equally shocked to see the five-figure sum revealed on her screen: “I was in total disbelief when I saw the €10,000. You never think that you will actually win a prize like that. I only started playing National Lottery games online since lockdown started so I guess we could say it’s almost like beginner’s luck. I’m not sure if I even fully believe it yet but it really is great news.”

The two Cork women were not the only winners to come from the Rebel county over the past week. In last Friday’s EuroMillions draw (12th March), there were two Cork players who matched five numbers and one lucky star to win €123,876 each. The winning Quick Pick tickets were sold at the Bandon Books store at the Riverview Shopping Centre in Bandon and at Gannon’s service station in Newmarket. Both ticketholders were just one lucky star number away from winning the €60,764,885 jackpot on offer in last Friday’s EuroMillions draw.

At the start of the month, another online player from Cork was just one lucky star number away from scooping the €32,402,008 EuroMillions jackpot on Friday 5th March. The player matched five numbers and one lucky star to win €267,995 after purchasing their Quick Pick ticket online at www.lottery.ie on the day of the draw.

Meanwhile, Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot is now set to roll to an estimated €100 million.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “As tonight’s jackpot has been rolling since the €210 million jackpot was won in Switzerland at the end of February, we are expecting excitement to grow ahead of Tuesday's draw. We are urging all of our EuroMillions players to continue to follow Government guidance regarding social distancing and to avoid queues in shops by purchasing their tickets early or online at www.lottery.ie.”

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.8 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2020 alone, €254 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
