Latest Cavan winner was one number short of scooping €17 million EuroMillions jackpot
EuroMillions players in Ballinagh, a small rural village in Co. Cavan have been urged to check their tickets after Tuesday night’s draw in Paris produced a Match 5 + Lucky Star winner of €81,129. The Cavan player matched five numbers and one lucky star, meaning that they were just one lucky star number (from 1-12) short of winning the €17 million EuroMillions jackpot on offer.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold yesterday (Tuesday 15th December) at Gavin’s Centra store in the centre of Ballinagh town.
The winning EuroMillions numbers are: 09, 13, 21, 29, 35 and the Lucky Stars were 01 & 02.
This EuroMillions Match 5 + Lucky Star win in Ballinagh is the latest of three such wins in 2020 which has seen three separate Cavan players come agonisingly close to the EuroMillions jackpot. Last January, the 295 strong ‘Little Rays’ EuroMillions syndicate made National Lottery history by becoming Ireland’s largest ever syndicate to win a high tier prize after they scooped €256,142. Another player in Kingscourt in Cavan won another €265,150 on the same EuroMillions prize tier last August.
The winning ticket holder is advised to sign the back of their ticket and to get in touch with the National Lottery claims team on 1800 666 222 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.
There was no winner of Tuesday’s €17 million EuroMillions jackpot which means that Friday’s jackpot is now heading for a massive €30 million.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.8 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2019 alone, €252 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
