National Lottery announces Bandon bookshop sells Friday’s €1 Million EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ Ticket

Bandon Bookshop Sells EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle Ticket

This winner won the National Lottery’s EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ draw, the second such special raffle events held last week, both of which were won in Cork.

The winning ticket of Friday’s ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ (14th August) was sold in Bandon Books Plus in Riverview Shopping Centre, Bandon, Co Cork.

Bandon Books Plus are no strangers to selling winning National Lottery tickets as back in March 2018 a ticket which won the Lotto Plus 2 top prize of €250,000 was sold at the bookstore.

A delighted Carmel Hayes, who manages Bandon Books Plus, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the news that the €1 million ticket was sold here. It was St. Patrick’s Day two years ago when we sold our last major winner of a quarter of a million but to think that someone who bought a Lottery ticket in our store is now a millionaire, it’s astounding! We have a strong loyal custom from the local Bandon community who come to the store in the Riverview Shopping Centre regularly whether they are buying some books or getting some everyday bits and pieces from our newsagents. I have absolutely no idea who the winner could be but I would guess that it is a local as that’s where most our trade comes from but everyone at Bandon Books Plus would like to wish the winner all the best with their win”.

The National Lottery is also asking to its EuroMillions players in Cork to check their EuroMillions tickets to see if they have won €1 million. Each EuroMillions ticket sold in Ireland has a unique ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ code and the winning code number is I-JML-99060.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 32 years ago. In 2019 alone, €250 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
