Smiles in the Sunny South-East as €1 million Lotto ticket sold in seaside town of Tramore

Applegreen, Tramore, Co. Waterford celebrates Lotto Plus 1 €1 million top prize

Celebrations have kicked off in Tramore in Co. Waterford after the National Lottery revealed that a winning Lotto ticket worth €1 million was sold at a store in the seaside town on the South-East of the country.

This Lotto Quick Pick ticket, which has bagged the lucky winner the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €1 million, was sold on Monday 2nd November at the Applegreen service station on the Waterford Road, Corbally Lower, Tramore, Co Waterford.

Speaking on selling this golden ticket, Becky O’Connell, assistant manager of the Applegreen store said: “It was such a shock to find out that we sold this ticket and it’s great to think that one of our customers is now a millionaire! Normally our trade is a mix of local and passing but with it being a little quieter fingers crossed the winner is a Tramore resident. We’ll certainly be spreading the word to all our customers to remind them to check their tickets.”

A National Lottery spokesperson commented that the winning does not end here as there will be another millionaire made in Ireland later today and said: “It’s not every week where you get to make three millionaires in the space of four days so there is a lot of excitement amongst National Lottery participants all over the country.  With our ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ event we will make someone a guaranteed millionaire later tonight and three more in the next seven days. Grab your EuroMillions ticket by 7:30pm tonight to be in with a chance to win the €1 million ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ prize.”

The winning Lotto Plus 1 numbers from Wednesday’s draw (4th November) are: 06, 21, 23, 25, 32, 38 and the bonus number is: 18.

The spokesperson continued: “For now it’s important that we remind all our Waterford players, especially those who live in Tramore who stopped by this Applegreen and bought a Lottery ticket in the past week, to check their tickets very carefully. If you are the lucky ticketholder, please sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to claim your prize.”

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.8 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2019 alone, €252 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
