The famous Winners Room in Lottery HQ hosted a number of celebrations over the past week with players travelling from all over the country to claim Top Prize amounts.
After a spur of the moment purchase, a Dublin syndicate were over the moon to scoop the Top Prize of €1 Million in the Lotto Plus One draw on Saturday, 1st November. The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K Dodder on the Rathfarnham Road in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14.
“I picked up the results in the shop and manually went through them, comparing the results to my ticket. As I went through, I was ticking the numbers off, not thinking we would ever have a Top Prize win. I was saying to myself that we matched four numbers, then five and then never expected to be saying we had all six numbers. I called another syndicate member immediately who couldn’t believe it.”
The syndicate manager kept the ticket carefully hidden in their kitchen ever since the win and is now deciding on what to do with the windfall.
“I am looking forward to planning a few home renovations and maybe some nice trips around Ireland too.”
Another Dublin syndicate had no idea just how much their EuroMillions ticket from the 4th November draw was worth until they rang the Claims team in Lottery HQ. They won the Top Prize of €500,000 in the Friday night Plus draw after purchasing their ticket at Donnybrook Fair on Morehampton Road in Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
“I was visiting a family member when I decided to pop into the shop to pick up our ticket. A few days later, I noticed that I had two tickets in my pocket to check. There was nothing on the first one and when I checked this one, I could see there was something but no idea how much. To be honest, I didn’t even know that there was a €500,000 win that night. I assumed it was a smaller prize, so I rang the Claims Team to find out and it was only then that I realised. I’m sure the person on the end of the line could hear how shocked I was!”
The EuroMillions Plus winners are now looking forward to booking a holiday to celebrate.
An online player in Sligo got a huge surprise when they won the top prize of €80,000 on the Hand to Hand Clash Instant Win game.
“I must have logged in and checked the ticket about 1,000 times. I couldn’t and still can’t believe it!”
Meanwhile, tonight’s EuroMillions Jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €135 Million. Players dreaming of being the next big winners to visit Lottery Headquarters are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm deadline for sales this evening.
