The National Lottery welcomed a Dublin winner to the Winners Room as he claimed an incredible €8,726,418 Lotto Jackpot prize from the 2nd May draw. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Applegreen on Ballymount Avenue in the M50 Business Park, Dublin 12.
“It was a couple of days after the draw when I found my Lotto ticket in my back pocket, completely oblivious to what it was worth. I scanned it on the National Lottery app and when I saw the message, ‘You’ve won big, contact the National Lottery’, I went straight to the results page to check it again. I couldn’t believe it, and honestly, I still can’t. It was such a surreal experience - I just kept shaking, I was completely overcome with shock.”
“I’ve been looking forward to handing over the winning ticket. It still doesn’t feel real. I’ve been out walking the roads just to get some fresh air, clear my head and try to take it all in. It's just been a total whirlwind, even sitting here now, I’m still in shock!”
The Dubliner added, “I’m looking forward to buying a home, so the next step is house hunting. There will definitely be a few sunshine holidays over the next few weeks, it feels like the perfect way to celebrate. I’m also really looking forward to helping family in the future and donating to a charity that’s close to my heart. It’s an incredible position to be in!”
