23/01/2026
A Tipperary man kicked off his new year in style after discovering he won €100,000 in the Millionaire Raffle draw on 31st December. The winning ticket was a Christmas gift from a family member, purchased from Spar Inver, Limerick Road, Tipperary Town.
Sharing the moment of realisation with the National Lottery team, the delighted winner said, “I heard there was a local win, but it never crossed my mind that it could've been me. I had the ticket sitting on the shelf for at least a week before checking it. I only popped into the shop for some sausages and asked the assistant to scan it while I waited. When they told me I’d have to contact Lottery HQ, I got such a shock - I was buzzing!”
To keep the ticket safe, he admitted he handed it straight over to his mum until he could claim his prize. The Tipp winner is now looking forward to celebrating with his family and hopes to put his windfall towards upgrading his home in the future.
A Waterford syndicate is also celebrating a fantastic windfall after claiming a €120,996 Lotto Match 5 + Bonus prize from the 13th December draw. Their winning ticket was purchased at Centra in Farran Park, Upper Grange Road.
Speaking about the moment they discovered their win, a syndicate member shared, “We would usually play Lotto, and this is by far the biggest prize we’ve ever won. I popped into the store to check our tickets, and when they told me I needed to contact Lottery HQ, I somehow stayed very calm, probably shock more than anything! We’re absolutely thrilled!”
While they’re not rushing into any big plans just yet, the group shared that a family getaway is definitely on the horizon.
A Limerick woman made the trip to Lottery HQ to collect a prize of €100,000. She scooped the top prize on a Money Multiplier Scratch Card, which she purchased in Centra, St Mary’s Road, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.
“I really didn’t think much of it when I bought the Scratch Card, I was just passing by and quickly ran in for something small. I’ve won a few euros in the past, but certainly nothing close to this. I still can’t believe it.”
She explained that she scratched the card later that day at home. “I was in total disbelief. I packed it safely into an envelope and tucked it away in the press.”
The delighted Limerick winner is now looking forward to booking a sunshine holiday later in the year.
Meanwhile, tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €100 million. Players dreaming of winning big are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this evening.
