Wexford man claims EuroDreams Tier 2 prize worth €2,000 a month for 5 years

A Wexford man is celebrating after visiting the National Lottery Winners Room this week to collect his EuroDreams Tier 2 prize, worth €2,000 a month for 5 years.
The player purchased his winning ticket for the 23rd April draw at Top Oil Service Station in Tommalossett, Enniscorthy in Co. Wexford.
Unlike other National Lottery prizes, he left HQ without a physical cheque, as his winnings will be paid directly into his bank account in monthly instalments over the next five years.
Sharing his excitement, he said, “I’ve been playing EuroDreams since day one, so it’s fantastic to finally be here collecting this prize. I checked my ticket last Monday, and it turned an ordinary start to the week into something really special! I have to say, I feel surprisingly relaxed about it all, just really happy to be enjoying the moment and soaking it all up!”
Speaking about how he plans to spend the monthly prize, he added, “I’ve told my family the news, but we haven’t celebrated properly yet. Once that first €2,000 payment comes in, we’ll definitely mark the occasion in style! After that, it’s going straight into a holiday fund. I’ve always wanted to visit Barbados, Mexico, anywhere with guaranteed sunshine sounds perfect right now!”
EuroDreams stands out for its annuity-style prize structure. The top prize, worth €7.2 Million, is paid in monthly tax-free instalments of €20,000 over 30 years, while the Tier 2 prize is paid as €2,000 per month over five years.
The game is played across eight countries: Ireland, Austria, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, with draws taking place every Monday and Thursday evening. Tickets are available from National Lottery retailers nationwide, online at www.lottery.ie, or via the National Lottery app.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6.5 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 39 years ago. In 2024 alone, €239.3 Million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
