The highlight of 2025 came on 17th June, when a family syndicate claimed the largest cheque ever seen in the Winners Room, an astonishing €250 million. The winning ticket was purchased at Clifford's Centra on Shandon Street in Cork City, and marked the 18th Irish EuroMillions jackpot win in Ireland. One of the syndicate members even admitted that they will “still be having my favourite ham and cheese sambo for lunch every day!” following the incredible win.
Just six months later, on 12th December, another family syndicate celebrated Ireland’s 19th EuroMillions Jackpot win, taking home €17 Million with a ticket bought at Lidl Cavan, Creighan, Athlone Road.
Over the 12-month period, the Lotto jackpot was won 9 times by players in Dublin, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Louth (2), Waterford, Mayo and Westmeath.
The largest Lotto Jackpot of the year also marked the third highest amount ever won in the game, when a Mayo family syndicate scooped €17,008,295 after purchasing their ticket online for the 27th August draw.
The Mayo family were still in disbelief when they picked up their cheque commenting, “I wish I could say that the news has sunk in by now but I’m waiting for hidden cameras to pop out and tell us that this is all a big joke. The last few weeks are a total blur, and I still wake up in the middle of the night wondering is this real or just a mad dream. We’re all in shock and you’d think sitting in the Winners Room would help, but we just can’t believe it.”
On 8th September, a Wicklow woman became the first-ever EuroDreams player in Ireland to win the Tier 1 prize worth an incredible €20,000 per month for 30 years, totalling €7.2 Million. The top prize winner, who purchased her ticket online, was delighted to visit the Winners Room to claim her annuity prize after matching 6 numbers and the Dream number in the Monday night draw. Unlike other National Lottery winners, she left Lottery HQ without a physical cheque as the annuity payments will be made directly into her bank account for the next 30 years.
Not only are our 2025 Millionaires worth celebrating, but 41 players won prizes between €500,000 and just under €1 Million across all games, from draw-based games to scratch cards. The EuroMillions Plus game saw an incredible 31 players take home €500,000, while 6 players won €500,000 each in Daily Million Plus draws. In addition, 2 players shared the €1,000,000 Daily Million jackpot on 26th September, winning €500,000 each.
2025 was truly an incredible year for the National Lottery, and as we step into 2026, we’re excited to see what the next 12 months will bring for our players.
