Wednesday’s €19 million (est) Lotto jackpot set to become the highest of all time!
An online player in Kerry is celebrating today after winning the top prize of €250,000 in last night’s Lotto Plus 2 draw. The Kingdom player became the biggest winner of the night after purchasing their ticket at www.lottery.ie on Friday 24th September.
The National Lottery has confirmed that a notification to the user’s online account and a separate email has now been sent to the lucky Kerry ticket holder who is encouraged to contact the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or firstname.lastname@example.org so that arrangements can be made for them to claim their prize.
The winning numbers in last night’s (Saturday 25th September) Lotto Plus 2 draw were: 02, 07, 17, 24, 39, 42 and the bonus was 29.
As there was no winner of the staggering €18,135,063 jackpot on offer in last night’s draw, Wednesday’s jackpot is now estimated to roll to €19 million which could become the highest jackpot ever seen in the history of the Lotto game in Ireland.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “And the roll continues! The excitement levels have truly gone up a few notches as we get into record-breaking territory for the Lotto game. As Wednesday’s jackpot heads towards the highest amount ever seen in the game to an estimated €19 million, we could see a new jackpot cap set following the midweek draw. The Lotto jackpot is currently capped at €18.96 million and this represents the record breaking Lotto jackpot win by the Dan Morrissey syndicate in Carlow in June 2008. Once the jackpot exceeds the cap, no more money will be added to the jackpot prize until it is won. The funds that would normally go to the jackpot will be distributed to the next lower prize tier at which there are winners. If the jackpot is won at an amount higher than €18.96 million, that amount will become the game’s new jackpot cap.”
“While there was no winner of the staggering €18,135,063 jackpot on offer in last night’s draw, over 204,000 players all over Ireland won prizes across Lotto and Lotto Plus games. The biggest winner of the night was an online player in Kerry who won the top prize of €250,000 in the Lotto Plus 2 draw. We are urging all of our online players in Kerry to log in and check their tickets carefully today. If you are the winning ticket holder, we would advise you to make contact with our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email@example.com and arrangements will be made for you to claim your prize.”
The National Lottery have also confirmed that they will be tomorrow revealing the winning location of the Wexford store in Rosslare that sold the €1 million ticket from Friday night’s 9pm Daily Million draw.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 34 years ago. In 2020 alone, €254 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
