The National Lottery have created a massive 33 brand new Millionaires in 2024* with over 161 players sharing over €103 Million alone in high tier prizes across all draw-based games.
This is according to the National Lottery ‘high tier prizes report’, which captures all draw-based game prizes won (Lotto, EuroMillions, Daily Million, Telly Bingo & Millionaire Raffle) *in excess of €15,000 (€10,000 for online wins) from 1st January 2024 until 12th December 2024.
This news comes as there is just one week to go until the highly anticipated Millionaire Raffle which takes place on New Year's Eve, that will guarantee another Lottery Millionaire, and with tickets selling out every year over the past four years, players are advised to secure a ticket early.
Dublin unsurprisingly topped the charts for National Lottery wins with over €21 Million paid out to 32 players, 7 of which won prizes in excess of €1 Million.
So far this year, three Millionaires have been made each in Cork, Kerry and Limerick. One of the Limerick winners claimed the second-largest prize of 2024, a Lotto Jackpot worth an astounding €8.9 Million. Remarkably, the winning ticket was purchased in the same shop that previously sold the historic €115 Million EuroMillions Jackpot ticket to Dolores McNamara in 2005.
Online players continued to win big in 2024 with €32 Million paid out to 34 players, 8 of which won prizes in excess of €1 million. Four of these online players were from Dublin alone.
