“I thought I’d won €20,000!” – Limerick woman scoops €200,000 on €10 scratch card

The National Lottery is continuing to appeal to Lotto players in the Dublin 16 area to check their tickets from the Saturday 17th June draw as a Match 5 + Bonus prize worth €61,202 is yet to be claimed.

The winning Quick Pick ticket, which is now worth €61,202, was purchased on the day of the draw at SuperValu in the Ballally Shopping Centre in Dublin 16.

As ticketholders have 90 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize, this means that the claim deadline for this Match 5 + Bonus prize is close of business on Friday 15th of September.

The Lotto results for Saturday 17th of June were: 2, 3, 21, 43, 44, 46, and the bonus was 7.

A National Lottery spokesperson has urged all Lotto players who may have purchased their ticket in the Dublin 16 area to carefully check their old tickets from June to ensure that they do not miss out on claiming their €61,202 prize.

“A Lotto player in Dublin has just three weeks left to claim a Match 5 + Bonus prize worth €61,202 which they won in the 17th June Lotto draw. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at SuperValu in the Ballally Shopping Centre. We are urging all of our players who may have purchased their ticket for that particular draw in the Dublin 16 store to carefully check their old tickets. It’s important to remember that all ticketholders have 90 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize which means that the last date to claim this particular prize is Friday 15th September.”

“The winner is advised to sign the back of their winning ticket and to make contact with our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.”

Meanwhile, a Limerick woman had to do a double take on an All Cash Spectacular scratch card after revealing the top prize amount of €200,000. The winning €10 scratch card was purchased at the Circle K on Childers Road in Roxboro.

Sitting in the Winners’ Room in Lotto HQ, the winner admitted that she didn’t realise that she was a top prize winner immediately.

“I popped into the shop to grab a drink and decided to get a scratch card while I was there. I scratched the All Cash Spectacular when I left and I initially thought that I had won €20,000. I was absolutely thrilled with that and even started telling friends about the win. It was a while before I actually realised that there was an extra zero at the end of the figure! I was showing the scratch card to a friend and they pointed it out to me! To think, there I was delighted with my €20,000 win when I’d actually won €200,000. It was definitely the best thing I’d ever had pointed out to me, that’s for sure!”

“There’s been a lot of excitement over the last few days that the news hasn’t really had time to sink in yet. Now that I have the cheque in my hand, I can actually start to plan and think about what to do next,” she said.
