Could you be Ireland’s next multi-millionaire? Friday night’s EuroMillions draw hits staggering €210 million jackpot cap

National Lottery confirms that an estimated €26 million prize fund is set to flow down to lower prize tiers

EuroMillions players all over the country who are dreaming of becoming Ireland’s next multi-millionaire are being encouraged to buy their tickets early ahead of tomorrow night’s €210 million draw. The National Lottery are reminding players that the cut-off time for ticket sales is 7.30pm tomorrow night. Players are urged to continue to follow public health guidelines and to avoid any queues in-store ahead of one of the most eagerly awaited lottery draws of the year.

The current EuroMillions jackpot has been rolling since the special €130 million Mega Draw took place on Friday 5th February.

On Tuesday (23rd February), the jackpot reached the €210 million cap which it will now remain at for a further four draws, with any excess jackpot value at each draw flowing down to the next prize tier with a winner. If the jackpot is still not won after the fifth draw at the cap, the full value of the jackpot will flow down to the next tier with a prize winner.

Since the EuroMillions game began in 2004, only four jackpots have reached the previous jackpot caps which were set at €190 million and more recently, €200 million.

For tomorrow night’s draw, it is estimated that an astonishing €26 million will flow down to the Match 5 + lucky star prize tier. If this prize was to be shared amongst multiple winners, it could result in a number of players becoming millionaires ahead of the weekend.

Ahead of Friday night’s €210 million EuroMillions draw, a National Lottery spokesperson said: “For the second time this week, the EuroMillions jackpot is set at an astounding €210 million. This truly is a life-changing amount of money and is creating lots of excitement amongst our players. One lucky winner could wake up on Saturday morning with a truly life-altering prize. As we now remain at the maximum jackpot cap of €210 million, all of the jackpot excess will continue to flow down to lower prize tiers. It is estimated that €26 million will flow to the Match 5 + lucky star tier tomorrow which means that even the lower prize tiers at which there are winners will now be offering life-altering amounts. As this is Europe’s largest ever lottery jackpot, we are expecting a surge of players to buy their tickets in the hours leading up to tomorrow night’s draw. We are appealing to our players to follow the health guidance currently in place and to buy their tickets safely early in-store, in-app and online at www.lottery.ie.”
