Could a National Lottery player become the 10th highest Lotto winner ever this weekend?
Tomorrow night’s jackpot heads towards a life-changing €13.5 million (est)
With just one day to go until the €13.5 million (estimated) Lotto draw, excitement is growing all over the country as players far and wide are being encouraged to purchase their tickets early. With the current jackpot roll lasting almost three months, huge anticipation is building ahead of Saturday night’s draw.
So far this year, there have been five Lotto jackpot winners in Limerick, Kilkenny, Westmeath, Cork and Galway. If the massive €13.5 million jackpot is won tomorrow night, one lucky player could be joining the roll call of winners for 2021, becoming the 6th Lotto jackpot winner of the year.
The last time a Lotto jackpot exceeded €13 million was in January 2016 when a lucky ticketholder from Belmullet, Co. Mayo scooped the jackpot prize of €13,793,435. A potential winner of tomorrow night’s jackpot would find themselves at number ten on the list of all-time highest Lotto wins since the game launched in Ireland in 1988.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “This could certainly be one of the most memorable weekends for one lucky Lotto player! If the jackpot is won tomorrow night, the next Lotto winner will take on the title of 10th highest Lotto jackpot winner ever in the history of the game. As we get closer to this potentially life-changing draw, we are urging our players to buy their tickets early in order to avoid queues and to follow public health guidelines. We are reminding Lotto players that tickets can be purchased in-store, in-app and at www.lottery.ie ahead of the cut-off time for ticket sales at 7.45pm tomorrow evening.”
