International Lottery Day marks a day for dreaming big as tonight’s EuroMillions Jackpot heads towards a massive €105 Million estimated.
Galway player claims €500,000 top prize from last Friday’s EuroMillions Plus draw
It could be a Tuesday night to remember for a EuroMillions player in Ireland as tonight’s jackpot heads towards an estimated €105 Million. With today marking International Lottery Day, a win tonight could see an Irish player scoop a life-changing amount on a world-renowned celebratory date.
Since the EuroMillions game launched in Ireland in 2004, there have been 17 Irish EuroMillions Jackpot winners. If tonight’s staggering Jackpot is won in Ireland, we could see a new Irish winner added to the 18th slot on the roll call of Jackpot wins.
So far this year, the EuroMillions game has seen 16 players in Ireland win life-changing prizes. The EuroMillions Plus top prize of €500,000 has been won 15 times since January while a Cork player also became an overnight Millionaire after scooping €1,005,000 in the special Ireland Only Raffle in May.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr reminded players how to be in with a chance of becoming the next big EuroMillions winner in Ireland:
“A EuroMillions player in Ireland could potentially wake up tomorrow morning as Ireland’s newest multi-Million with an estimated €105 Million up for grabs in tonight’s draw. If a player in Ireland was to win this massive amount, they would take the title of 18th Irish EuroMillions Jackpot winner since the game launched in Ireland in 2004. Players already dreaming of what they would do first with such a huge win are reminded that tickets can be purchased nationwide in-store, through our app and at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales on Friday evening.”
Meanwhile, last Friday’s EuroMillions Plus draw saw two players from Dublin and Galway get their weekend off to an incredible start by scooping the top prize of €500,000 each. The Galway player won their top prize amount after purchasing their ticket online and was thrilled to make the trip to Lotto HQ to pick up their prize.
“There I was having a normal Saturday morning until I decided to check my ticket from the night before. I knew that I’d received an email to say that I had won but I just thought it’d be something small like €2 or €2.50. I logged into my account not really expecting to see anything mad and there it was in front of me - €500,000! I’m still in a bit of shock to be honest and I was even thinking that it had to be a joke or scam of some sort. Even though I have my cheque in hand now and I’ve counted all the zeroes, I’m not sure I quite believe it. I always said playing National Lottery games was my way of contributing to charity and Good Causes – never in a million years did I think that I would actually win big. It just comes to show that it really could be any of us!”
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 36 years ago. In 2022 alone, €259.5 Million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
Play National Lottery games responsibly, play for fun.
