Naas Community Men's Shed

Naas Community Men's Shed is a community space in Naas, Co. Kildare, where men of all ages come together to connect, share skills and support one another.

Since 2014 their members, ranging from their twenties to their eighties, have gathered for carpentry, music, sport, gardening and everything in between, with a particular focus on combating the isolation that can come with retirement, illness or bereavement. The Shed Band performs regularly at nursing homes, dementia cafés and community events throughout the county.

Naas Community Men's Shed are Community Legends for the remarkable way they have rallied around their local community, creating purpose and connection for men of all ages and backgrounds while consistently turning that energy outward. Judges were inspired by a community that not only looks after its own members; it shows up for isolated families, entertains nursing home residents, and builds community spaces and amenities for the wider community to use. This is community spirit of the highest order, and it makes Naas Men's Shed a true legend.
