My Canine Companion

My Canine Companion is a Cork-based charity that trains and places autism service dogs and school therapy dogs with children, families and schools across Ireland. Founded in 2011, the organisation runs a volunteer puppy-raising programme through which dogs are raised from ten weeks old before undergoing two years of specialist training. Today over 400 trained service dogs support families nationwide and over 100 school therapy dogs work in classrooms across the country, positively impacting thousands of students.

My Canine Companion are Sport & Wellness Legends for their pioneering and life-changing work providing autism service dogs and school therapy dogs to children and families across Ireland. Judges were inspired by the vision of its founders, who built one of Ireland's largest autism service dog provider services. With over 400 service dogs supporting families and a school therapy dogs programme positively impacting tens of thousands of students, the reach and depth of their impact is extraordinary.
