The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is an independent not-for-profit organization that aims to be at the forefront of Ireland’s response to sexual violence. Since 1979, they have been on a mission to prevent the harm and heal the trauma of rape and other forms of sexual violence. Their vision is of a society in which sexual violence is not tolerated but that, when it does occur, survivors are provided with information and care that supports their empowerment and resiliency.
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is situated in the City Centre, but they provide services right across the country both directly and through referrals to a network of regional centres and partners. DRCC work to prevent sexual violence and to eliminate its tolerance in society through education, training and awareness-raising campaigns
The Centre also supports survivors of sexual assault through their trauma and help them cope with its consequences. When sexual violence does occur, they offer a range of supports including telephone counselling through the National 24-Hour Helpline, one-to-one counselling, and accompaniment services. DRCC also advocate on behalf of survivors of sexual violence to help ensure that they have access to responsive and sensitive services provided by law enforcement officials, medical personnel, and the courts.
Funding from our players, has played a vital role in modernizing the Centre and the IT services that DRCC now avail of. Before funding from National Lottery players, the DRCC operated almost entirely without using online technologies.
The funding drastically improved the DRCC's ability to support survivors of sexual assault from 2016 onwards, enabling them to implement systems and streamline their services, ultimately empowering the DRCC to support a greater number of survivors.
We are so proud to support such a meaningful cause who are offering support to survivors of sexual assault.
