Graffiti Theatre Company was established in 1984. Since then the company have been providing a unique brand of excellence in drama and theatre work for children and young people from birth to 18 years, throughout Cork city and county. Every child should have the right to access culture and discover the world through the arts. Graffiti nurture young people’s curiosity and imagination to enrich their lives.
They celebrate the voices of all children and young people. They value inclusion. Graffiti believe in building community through creativity, kindness, and the power of imagination as well as developing children’s confidence and mental wellbeing through participation in the arts. They inspire them to forge a greater connection with the world and a sense of belonging through a guided and transformative discovery of the arts. Funding from our players has allowed Graffiti to provide quality art experiences to children and young people, where they grow in confidence, have fun, and make friends.
In an average year, Graffiti can provide 10,000 creative encounters for children in creches, primary schools and post primary schools. Funding allows them to subsidise their work to make it accessible and affordable and, in many cases, free. It allows them to do creative writing workshops, drama workshops, provide mentorship for people and opportunity for artists to develop work.
We're proud to support this cause in their bid to spark joy and imagination in children and young people of Cork.
