Graffiti Theatre Company

Graffiti Theatre Company was established in 1984. Since then the company have been providing a unique brand of excellence in drama and theatre work for children and young people from birth to 18 years, throughout Cork city and county. Every child should have access to culture and be able to discover the world through the arts. Graffiti nurture young people’s curiosity and imagination to enrich their lives.

Graffiti celebrate the voices of all children and young people. They value inclusion and believe in building community through creativity, kindness and the power of imagination, as well as developing children’s confidence and mental wellbeing through participation in the arts. They inspire them to forge a greater connection with the world and a sense of belonging through a guided and transformative discovery of the arts. Funding from National Lottery players allowed Graffiti provide quality art experiences to children and young people, where they grow in confidence, have fun, and make friends.

In an average year, Graffiti can provide 10,000 creative encounters for children in creches, primary schools and post-primary schools, as well as creative writing workshops, drama workshops, provide mentorship and opportunities for artists to develop work. Their work is invaluable and deserves not only a standing ovation, but also this year’s Good Causes Arts & Culture Award.
