MCINTYRE FAMILY COLLECT €11 MILLION LOTTO WIN

It was a very happy day in National Lottery offices today when the McIntyre family from Belmullet, Co. Mayo collected their big Lotto win of €11,033,953. The family won this prize in the Lotto draw on Saturday 24 September 2011. Their lucky €4 Quick Pick ticket was purchased in Eurospar, Tallagh Road, Belmullet, Ballina, Co. Mayo.

The lucky family members are father Martin, mother Evelyn and family Michelle (29), Stephanie (27), Sandra (26) and Shane (18). Today, they told how they felt about the win over some celebratory glasses of champagne in National Lottery offices.

"We’re absolutely delighted.  We simply cannot believe that we are all sitting here with a cheque for over €11 million in front of us. It’s just unbelievable.’ said Evelyn.

“I checked the ticket on Saturday evening after watching Winning Streak. I glanced at the ticket and realised I had a few numbers so I passed it to my husband who then told me I had six numbers. At that point I thought I had won a couple of thousand euros”, laughed Evelyn.

“When we realised we had won the €11 million jackpot we were in shock”, added Martin.

The Mc Intyres have no immediate plans for the win, ‘except to sit tight, have the money put away somewhere for the future, and think about things over the next couple of months’.

The McIntyre’s win ranks 11th in the list of largest Lotto jackpot wins since the Lotto game began in 1987. It is the largest Lotto win ever in Co. Mayo.
