Postman Pat Broderick from Kinsale, Co. Cork had plenty to smile about today as he joined the rich list with a massive Lotto cheque for over €7 million. A delighted Pat celebrated at National Lottery offices with family and friends including his wife Mary and daughter Christina.
Pat bought his lucky €10 ticket in SuperValu, Pearse St, Kinsale, Co. Cork. Cork is proving to be a very lucky county for National Lottery players. Since 1 January 2010, Corkonians have won over €44 million in National Lottery draw games.
National Lottery good causes benefit from the Lotto draw, as approximately one third of all sales fund beneficiary projects around the country, as designated by Government.
Since the National Lottery was launched, over €3.6 billion has been raised for good causes. This level of funding has made a significant difference to communities, projects and individuals in the areas of Youth, Sports, Recreation & Amenities; Health & Welfare; Arts, Culture & National Heritage and the Irish Language.
