It was a very happy Friday in National Lottery when thrilled couple John Paul (JP) and Adrienne Redmond, with their three year old son Dylan from Coolgreaney Road, Arklow collected their €250,000 Lotto Plus prize in Dublin. Their lucky ticket was purchased in The Tesco store on the Wexford Road in Arklow, Co. Wicklow on 8 January 2011; it was a €6 Quickpick selection.
JP Redmond is a builder and owns MacReamoinn Construction in Arklow. He, his wife Adrienne, and their son Dylan were happy to pose for pictures in National Lottery offices. They have been playing Lotto since it began in 1988 and said that they were delighted with their win:
‘It hasn’t sunk in yet, to tell you the truth. I only checked the ticket on Wednesday. It had been sitting on top of the fridge since the draw on Saturday and I heard some neighbours saying that there was a local winner. I checked the numbers on my iPhone National Lottery App, which is brilliant for checking draw results, and there they were – the winners’, said a delighted Adrienne as she sipped champagne in National Lottery offices. Also accompanying the happy couple today were Adrienne’s mother May Tracey, her brother Paul, and JP’s brother, Alan Redmond.
‘We haven’t any particular plans at the moment. Hopefully a nice holiday soon, and we’ll carry out some improvements on our house. The rest will be invested; it’s a great feeling to have this kind of money to invest in 2011’, said JP before leaving National Lottery offices.
