What is the National Lottery Sweepstakes?
* National Lottery Sweepstakes is a new exciting game available through National Lottery Agents, on sale from Monday, April 12.
* National Lottery Sweepstakes is similar to a raffle however the top tier prizes are awarded based on the results of a horse race as opposed to the results of a drawing from a draw drum.
* There will be 200 winning tickets with prizes from €1,000,000 to €100.
* The holders of the Top 25 winning tickets drawn will each be allocated a horse in the National Lottery Sweepstakes race.
* The National Lottery Sweepstakes race will be held in the Curragh on Irish Derby Day, Sunday, 27 June 2010.
* The game will be on sale for a limited period with a limited number of tickets available.
* There are 200,000 tickets in total and once those tickets are sold out, there are no more available, so play early to avoid disappointment.
* Each ticket sold will contain a unique six-digit number from 000001 to 200,000 inclusive, and will be sold sequentially from the available ticket pool.
When does the draw take place?
* After the game closes at 6pm on Father’s day Sunday 20th June 2010 the draw will take place and all tickets purchased between the above dates will be entered.
* 200 winning tickets will be randomly selected, supervised by KPMG.
* The 25 top prize winners tickets will be put on hold so that winners contact National Lottery. They will be asked to come into National Lottery Headquarters to collect their winners pack (containing prize details and 10 race tickets per winner).
* The remaining 175 winning tickets numbers will be allocated prizes ranging from €5,000 to €100.
* The evening before the National Lottery Sweepstakes Race, Saturday 26th June 2010, the owners of the 25 top Sweepstakes tickets will each be allocated a horse name by means of a random draw.
* Each of these 25 will be asked to attend (with a guest) pre-ball drinks at Kclub where their names will be matched with a horse name.
